Bodhi Seed Long Mala – Blessed

$48.00

This authentic, traditional long mala is handmade in Nepal, from bodhi seed beads with turquoise and coral coloured feature beads.

These Bodhi Seed Long Malas have been blessed by nuns from Machig Labdron Nunnery at The Great Stupa.

There are significant properties of each of the materials used to make the mala.  “Bodhi” in Sanskrit means enlightenment; as an “enlightened” seed, many practitioners use these malas for their essence and inherent teachings within each seed, and turquoise has long been believed to be a stone of protection.

The mala is often used so that one can focus on the meaning or sound of a mantra rather than counting its repetitions. One repetition is usually said for each bead while turning the thumb clockwise around each bead.
