ILLUMIN8 2021 has been CANCELLED.
It is with great disappointment that we have decided to cancel this year’s Illumin8 Festival of Light and Peace, due to take place Saturday, 5th of June 2021.
We know this will be disappointing news to you as the support we have received from the community has been incredible.
The decision has come from the overriding factor of uncertainty in the week leading up to our event.
The announcement from the Victorian Government of the 7 day lock down creates factors outside of our control, forcing us to cancel the event.
Our primary concern is the health and safety of our supporters who make events like this possible. We are committed to do our part to help protect our attendees, staff and local community.
We can’t thank everyone enough for the huge support for this years festival.
We hope we can bring back a bigger and better ILLUMIN8 in 2022.
ILLUMIN8 celebrates peace and harmony inspired by Buddha’s life. It commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and death of Buddha according to the Tibetan festival of Saga Dawa. It is a family friendly event with light installations, cultural performances, food stalls and family entertainment.
Immerse yourself in all the experiences the festival has to offer. Wander the Peace Park and interact with different light sculptures, be amazed by the performers, take a selfie with the Stupa, enjoy delicious vegetarian and vegan food, join in on Buddhist ceremonies and purge your negative emotions in Burning the Bad.
Make sure you’re following the Facebook event for exciting announcements!
ILLUMIN8 takes place at 25 Sandhurst Town Road, Myers Flat, Victoria.
Car parking will be available on site.
Disability parking will be available to anyone with mobility issues.
Trains will be running on their regular schedule to the Bendigo Train Station over the weekend. Please visit www.vline.com.au for more information and scheduling.
ILLUMIN8 aims to create a community event that welcomes all people to be part of the day. The Great Stupa offers accessibility throughout the site, including clear internal and external signage, clear paths, accessible bathroom facilities with sign-posted directions and slip resistant floor and ground surfaces. On the day there will be accessible carparks.
