ILLUMIN8 2020 CANCELLED

ILLUMIN8 2020 held at The Great Stupa of Universal Compassion has been cancelled following COVID-19 (coronavirus) public health concerns.

We are disappointed to share that we are not able to go ahead with ILLUMIN8: Festival of Light and Peace on Saturday 6 June 2020 due to recent guidance from the Prime Minister of Australia in light of the evolving COVID-19 situation which advises against non-essential, organised public gatherings of more than 500 people.

This decision was made after careful consideration, with the health and safety of everyone visiting and involved in the festival, remaining our top priority.

We are hugely saddened as we believe we were presenting an amazing line-up of cultural performances and activities, light sculptures, food and family fun, but unfortunately the situation is out of our control.

Although we’re devastated this year can’t go ahead, the wonderful program we had planned will be returning in 2021.

Thank you to everyone for supporting us.

ILLUMIN8 celebrates peace and harmony inspired by Buddha’s life. It commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and death of Buddha according to the Tibetan festival of Saga Dawa. It is a family friendly event with light installations, cultural performances, food stalls and family entertainment.

Immerse yourself in all the experiences the festival has to offer. Wander the Peace Park and interact with different light sculptures, be amazed by the roving performers, take a selfie with the Stupa, enjoy delicious vegetarian and vegan food, join in on Buddhist ceremonies and purge your negative emotions in Burning the Bad.

Make sure you following the Facebook event for exciting announcements!
