Vegecareian Festival

Held annually at The Great Stupa of Universal Compassion, this free, fun family event is all about celebrating vegetarian cuisine from around the world. Enjoy vegetarian food from many different cultures, including; Mexican, Greek, Vietnamese, Ethiopian, Italian, Indian, French, Tibetan and more.


A coming together of friends, family and cultures, learn how vegetarianism has developed in other communities, watch cooking demonstrations and sample vegetarian dishes from all over the globe. Learn the benefits of a vegetarian diet for your health and other sentient beings. Get your animal blessed by a monk inside The Great Stupa. There’s heaps of activities for the kids too.


The best part is… all pets are welcome!

By car is the best way to get to Vegecareian Festival, which is held at The Great Stupa Bendigo. 25 Sandhurst Town Road, Myers Flat (Bendigo) Victoria.


Unfortunately at this stage there is no public transport directly to the venue.

Train to Bendigo

  • From Bendigo Station catch a bus or taxi to The Great Stupa.
  • From Eaglehawk Station catch a bus or taxi to The Great Stupa.

Vegecareian Festival aims to create a community event that welcomes all people to be part of the day. The Great Stupa offers accessibility throughout the site, including clear internal and external signage, clear paths, accessible bathroom facilities with sign-posted directions and slip resistant floor and ground surfaces. On the day there will be accessible carparks.
