Handmade in Nepal, the rosewood wrist mala is traditionally used for mantra recitation, meditation and prayer. The mala is often used so that one can focus on the meaning or sound of a mantra rather than counting its repetitions. One repetition is usually said for each bead while turning the thumb clockwise around each bead.
There are significant properties of each of the materials used to make the mala. Rosewood has healing energy whilst coral represents transformation and peace, and turquoise is a stone of protection.
